  • Please join us for a walkthrough of Alex Katz’s exhibition, led by Kevin Salatino and Laura Owens.

    Kevin Salatino is the Hannah and Russel Kully Director of the Art Collections at the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino. Prior to that he was Director of the Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Brunswick, Maine, and before that he was Curator and Head of the Department of Prints and Drawings at LACMA. It was while living in Maine that Kevin got to know Alex Katz, who has spent every summer there for more than 50 years.

    Laura Owens received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from the California Institute of the Arts. She has been the focus of solo shows at MOCA, Los Angeles and the Kunstmuseum Bonn, Germany among many others. In 2004, she participated in the Colby College Museum of Art exhibition  Contemporary Painting, curated by Alex Katz. In 2013 she inaugurated the art space at 356 S. Mission Rd. in Los Angeles with her exhibition 12 Paintings by Laura Owens.
