Mock-ups in Close-up: Architectural Models in Film 1919 to 2012 screening

April 5, 2013
  • Please join us this Friday evening for a screening and discussion of Mock-ups in Close-up: Architectural Models in Film 1919 to 2012 (130 mins) by Gabu Heindl, Drehli Robnik

Mock-ups in Close-up is a compilation of footage from nine decades of film history, consisting only of clips from narrative films that show physical architectural models— from Alain Resnais to Tim Burton and Jia Zhangke, from West-German crime thrillers to recent Hollywood comedy. Ordered chronologically, the video is at once real-time database, proto-psychedelic flotation toy and a retro-cultural altar that has (architectural) history enter through the back-door.

Filmmakers Gabu Heindl and Drehli Robnik will introduce their video and will be available for discussion afterward.

    Friday, April 5th at 7pm
